Basic Gait Analysis

TRG new logo 2014

Our Basic Gait Analysis is the most popular analysis that we offer.  It is ideal for runners of all abilities and experience that are interested to learn more about the way they run.  We’d like to point out that this analysis is NOT essential if you want to buy a pair of shoes.

Don’t be fooled by the word “basic” though, there is nothing trivial about what we look at during this analysis.  During the Basic Gait Analysis, we start from the ground up.  We look at pronation and foot strike but then proceed on to the more pressing issues like posture and efficiency.

During this analysis, we will provide you with information about how your body is reacting to your current style of running.  Our body endures impact forces many times our body weight when we’re running so a key goal for us is injury prevention.

make an informed decision

The Basic Gait Analysis will involve you running on the treadmill in bare feet and then in your shoes.  We’re not going to stand around the treadmill going “hmmm” and “ahhhh”.  Video is recorded both times and we proceed straight into the analysis using the Dartfish software.  We try out best to tailor the information provided to suit your needs and level of proficiency as a runner.

Picking out Biomechanical Issues
